REGU.LAW is the practice brand under which the independent legal practice of Dominik Vítek, an attorney-at-law (advokát) registered in the Czech Republic, provides legal services. REGU.LAW is the brand only; legal services are provided through the individual practice of Dominik Vítek.
The practice is subject to Act No. 85/1996 Coll., on the Legal Profession, and to the professional rules, codes of conduct and disciplinary rules of the Czech Bar Association (Česká advokátní komora). These set out the applicable framework for the provision of legal services, professional secrecy and the conduct expected of attorneys.
REGU.LAW is the brand of the independent legal practice of Dominik Vítek. Legal services are provided by him in person as an attorney-at-law registered with the Czech Bar Association. The practice operates as a senior-led European legal platform: one accountable lead, supported where the mandate requires it by trusted independent legal, regulatory and technical professionals in the relevant jurisdictions.
Where a mandate calls for local-law advice or specialist input, those independent professionals may be involved. They are not employees and are not permanent members of REGU.LAW; their involvement, role and contractual arrangements are determined by the engagement in question.
Visiting this website or submitting an enquiry does not in itself create an attorney-client relationship. An engagement only arises once a mandate has been agreed in writing. Confidential, privileged or time-sensitive information should not be submitted before an engagement has been confirmed.
The Czech Bar Association (Česká advokátní komora) is the competent body for the out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes arising from legal services provided by attorneys in the Czech Republic. This notice describes how personal data is handled in connection with this website and with initial enquiries to the practice. It is provided in line with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation) and the Czech Act on the Processing of Personal Data.

Enquiries may be sent through the contact form on the home page or by email. The contact form on this website submits via a mailto: action: the content of the form is composed into an email that opens in your own mail client and is sent to the practice. No third-party form processor or tracking tool is used for the form itself. Email enquiries reach the practice through the email delivery provider used for the practice's mailbox.
Depending on how you contact the practice, the categories of personal data processed may include: identification and contact data (name, email address, telephone number); employer or company details; the content of your enquiry; technical data generated when the website is accessed (such as IP address, request metadata and request logs) and processed by the website hosting provider.
Personal data is processed to respond to enquiries, to assess potential mandates, to perform engagements that have been agreed, to operate and secure the website, and to comply with legal and professional obligations applicable to attorneys in the Czech Republic.
Processing relies on the following legal bases under Article 6(1) of the GDPR: Article 6(1)(b) — steps taken at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract, for the assessment of enquiries and the agreement of mandates; Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interests of the practice in responding to enquiries, securing its communications and operating a secure website; Article 6(1)(c) — compliance with legal and professional obligations to which the practice is subject, including record-keeping obligations applicable to attorneys.
Personal data is treated as confidential and is protected by professional secrecy. It may be shared with independent professionals engaged for a specific mandate and with service providers acting on the controller's instructions, including: the website hosting provider [to be confirmed]; the email / IT provider that delivers enquiries and operates the practice's mailbox [to be confirmed]; and other IT providers supporting the operation of the practice [to be confirmed]. Where a mandate requires it, data may also be shared with courts, authorities or other counterparties in the context of a specific matter.
The website loads certain resources from providers outside the European Economic Area, including Google Fonts (CSS and font files) and the user-data asset CDN used to serve images. The exact processing arrangement, including any transfers of personal data outside the EEA, depends on the hosting and IT providers finally confirmed for the practice and will be reflected here once they are set up [to be confirmed].
Enquiry data is kept for as long as needed to respond, to assess a potential mandate and to keep a record of the enquiry. Where a mandate is agreed, client and matter data is retained for the duration of the engagement and thereafter for the periods required by the professional and statutory retention rules applicable to Czech attorneys [specific periods to be confirmed].
Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data, rectification or erasure, restriction of processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request data portability where it applies. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in the Czech Republic that is the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů).
You are not under any statutory or contractual obligation to provide personal data to the practice. However, without the contact and enquiry data needed to respond to a request, the practice will not be able to answer the enquiry.
